Dahlia 'Penhill Dark Monarch' - an impressive dahlia with large 22 - 25 cm flowers in smoky plum and antique rose shades. The petals are slightly wavy.
Dahlia tubers are planted outdoors in a flower bed after the last frosts, usually in May. If you want flowering to start earlier, you can begin waking the tubers in March and April by placing the tubers in a pot and keeping the pot indoors. The tubers will start producing new shoots; after that, the formed plants can be transplanted outdoors when frosts are no longer a threat.
In autumn, the tubers are dug up and overwintered in a box in the cellar or another cool place.
