Dahlia 'Silver Years' 1 tuber (Size II)
Dahlia 'Silver Years' - an elegant variety with silvery flowers in which light pink and pearl-white tones blend harmoniously. The flowers are medium-sized, 10–14 cm in diameter, with perfectly arranged, slightly cupped petals. Suitable for cut flowers.
Dahlia Tuber (Size II) - These are smaller-sized dahlia tubers, especially suitable for cut flower production. Each tuber has a neck and visible “eyes” (growth points). After planting, Size II tubers develop just as strong and floriferous plants as larger tubers. The only difference is the initial amount of stored nutrients in the tuber. Because the tubers are smaller, they can be planted slightly closer together — about 30–40 cm apart, which is particularly suitable for cut flower beds, row plantings, or larger growing areas. Once established, these tubers will grow into fully developed dahlia plants with abundant flowering throughout the season.
Dahlia tubers are planted outdoors in a bed after the last frosts, usually in May. If you want flowering to start earlier, you can start waking the tubers in March and April by placing them in a pot and keeping the pot indoors. The tubers will begin to sprout new shoots; after that, the formed plants can be transplanted outdoors when frosts are no longer a threat.
In autumn, the tubers are dug up and overwintered in a box in a cellar or another cool place.
