African marigold ‘Velvet Imperiale Yellow’ (Tagetes erecta) – an approximately 70 cm tall variety with richly yellow, large, double flowers. Marigolds of the ‘Imperiale’ series are specially bred for cut-flower production – they form long, sturdy stems and large, double flowers at the tips of the shoots.

Grows best in a sunny location with well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Seeds can be sown in trays in March–April or directly in the bed in May, when there is no longer a risk of frost. Germinates on average in 7–14 days.
