Black-eyed Susan 'Irish Eyes' (Rudbeckia hirta) 10 seeds
Black-eyed Susan 'Irish Eyes' (Rudbeckia hirta) - characteristic elongated petals, larger flowers and a light, greenish-yellow center that gives the flower a special contrast. Very suitable as a cut flower – one plant can produce at least 5 flower stems.
To keep flowers in a vase longer, scalding the stems is recommended: immerse freshly cut stems in ~90 °C hot water for about 3 minutes, then immediately transfer to cold water. This helps extend the vase life of the flowers.
Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. They germinate in about 7 to 14 days. If seeds are started indoors, before transplanting outdoors, gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions by taking the seedlings outside for a few hours. Prefers well-drained soil, but this variety’s great feature is that it can adapt to different soil types.
