French marigold ‘Strawberry Blonde’ (Tagetes patula nana) – a compact marigold variety with a completely new breeding background. It stands out for its multicolour blooms on a single plant: flowers open in deep pink with a yellow crest and gradually change through peach, blush pink and yellow tones. In cooler conditions, colour transitions occur more slowly with stronger contrast, while in warmer weather the colours shift faster and the contrast is softer. Flowers are semi-double to double with a velvety texture, creating a unique and highly decorative effect. The plant forms a neat, rounded, dense mound, reaching 20–25 cm in height and similar width, and flowers abundantly from early spring through autumn. Well suited for container and patio growing. Heat tolerant, it prefers a sunny position, moderately moist, well-drained soil, and regular fertilising every two weeks. Recommended spacing is 15–25 cm. Plug production time is approximately 3 weeks; time to finish is 3–4 weeks, or 4–6 weeks in larger pots or mixed containers. Regular deadheading encourages continuous and prolific flowering.
