Proso millet 'Violaceum' (Panicum miliaceum) – an annual ornamental grass with upright stems and beautiful violet to black inflorescences that droop like panicles. 

Sow seeds directly in the bed or in seedling pots, on the surface or at a very shallow depth. Germination occurs at 15-20°C, within 10–15 days. The plant prefers a sunny location and moderately moist, well-drained soil.
