Chard 'Bright Lights' (Beta vulgaris subsp. cicla) 2g
Chard 'Bright Lights' or leaf beet. A mix of different colored chards. Chard is a fast-growing leafy vegetable. Usually sown directly outdoors in the soil, but can also be started indoors for an earlier harvest. Distance between plants about 30 cm. If you harvest the leaves and leave the center, the chard will regrow and produce more leaves again and again. Cold-resistant. Young leaves can be eaten raw in salads, but slightly older leaves can be stewed like spinach.
Because of its brightly colored stems, chard is also sometimes grown for decorative purposes.
