Kale 'Curly Scarlet' - A beautiful, decorative, and very hardy kale variety with deep reddish-purple, tightly curled leaves. ‘Curly Scarlet’ stands out with its pronounced visual effect. The leaves become even more aromatic and tender after a light frost. Easily grown, highly cold-resistant – can be grown outdoors in autumn and winter. Harvest by picking leaves from the bottom, regularly collecting new leaves. The variety is also suitable for growing in pots.
Sow from March–June or August–September depending on the purpose. Recommended planting distance: 30–45 cm between plants. Growing temperature: ideally +10…+20 °C. Harvest start: depends on the growing season – usually the first leaves can be harvested 6–10 weeks after sprouting, continuing for several months.
Usage: salads, salad mixes, stews, soups, juices, drying for chips.
