Sweet peas ‘Gloriosa’ (Pisum sativum) – An early shelling pea variety that provides sweet, large, and dark green peas. The variety is ideally suited for fresh consumption, drying, freezing, and canning. Each pod contains an average of 7-9 peas.
Sow early in spring, usually in April, directly into the ground. Sow seeds at a depth of 3–5 cm. After two weeks, sow again to extend the harvest period. Grows best in moderately heavy soil that is permeable to water and air. Requires a sunny location. It is recommended to grow peas in the same place no more often than once every 4–5 years, following crop rotation.
