Siberian squill
Siberian squill (Scilla siberica) – one of the most beloved spring bulbs, flowering very early, often already in March. Each bulb produces 2–3 stems, each carrying several nodding, star-shaped, bluish-violet flowers. Height about 15 cm. The narrow, dark green leaves provide a fresh contrast to the vivid blooms. Looks especially striking when planted in large groups under deciduous trees, shrubs, in borders, or in naturalized meadow-style plantings. Undemanding and easy to grow – reliably returns every year and gradually forms increasingly lush carpets of blue. Perennial.
