Garden cosmos 'Fizzy purple' (Cosmos bipinnatus)
Garden cosmos ‘Fizzy Purple’ (Cosmos bipinnatus) – a profusely flowering cosmos with full, vibrant violet-pink to purple blooms that add a bright and decorative accent to garden beds. Blooms from mid-summer through autumn, attracting pollinators and enriching the garden’s color palette. Forms strong, well-branched plants with fine, feathery foliage, suitable for both borders and cut flowers. The flowering period can be extended by regularly removing faded blooms. Cutting back about one-third of the plants once most flowers have finished encourages fresh foliage and a new wave of blooms.
Cover the seeds with only a thin layer of soil, as they need light to germinate. Transplant outdoors only after the last frost. Spacing: 30–50 cm. Avoid overwatering – cosmos do not like excessively wet conditions.
