Lindheimer's beeblossom (Gaura lindheimerii), 10 seeds
Lindheimer's beeblossom (Gaura lindheimerii) - commonly known as gaura, Oenothera lindheimeri, white gaura, pink gaura, Lindheimer's clockweed, and Indian feather. Elegant, airy perennial with delicate, butterfly-like flowers that sway in the wind, creating a very light and romantic effect in the border. The flowers are white to soft pink and bloom continuously from early summer right through to autumn. The plant forms a finely branched, slightly arching habit.
Gaura loves full sun and performs best in bright, open locations. It is drought tolerant and well suited to hot, light soils. It prefers light, well-drained ground that is not overly rich, as too fertile soil can cause the plant to flop. It is often a short-lived perennial, reliably hardy only where winter temperatures do not fall below about –10 °C. It may also self-seed. Excellent for modern, naturalistic, and prairie-style plantings, and highly attractive to pollinators.
