Sweet scabious ‘Black Knight’ (Scabiosa atropurpurea) – a delicate yet luxurious variety with deep, velvety, almost black-burgundy pincushion blooms. The fully double, textured flowers resemble small pom-poms and look elegant both in garden beds and floral arrangements, gently swaying in the wind. Flowers continuously from summer into autumn, attracting pollinators. Produces slender but strong stems suitable for cutting. Plants typically reach 90–100 cm in height.

Sow indoors from March to May. Cover seeds lightly with soil and keep the substrate slightly moist. Transplant outdoors after the last frost. Prefers well-drained loamy soil with a neutral to alkaline pH. If soil is heavy, improve drainage by incorporating organic matter. Compost or well-rotted manure will help enrich the soil while ensuring better drainage.
