Common zinnia 'Macarenia' (Zinnia elegans)
Zinnia ‘Macarenia’ is an annual, easy-to-grow zinnia with lush, decorative flowers in golden and brownish tones. The plant is compact, reaching about 50–60 cm in height, making it suitable for growing both in beds and pots.
‘Macarenia’ blooms abundantly and beautifully until the first autumn frosts, and its strong flower stems are also suitable for cut flowers in vases.
Sow indoors in seed trays 4–6 weeks before the last frost or outdoors directly in the soil after frost. Lightly cover the seeds with soil. Germinates in 7–14 days at 20–25°C.
Zinnias prefer a sunny location and well-drained soil. Water regularly, but avoid excessively wet soil. Pinch off faded flowers or cut flowers for a vase to encourage continuous blooming.
