Ornamental Carrot 'Dara' (Daucus carota)
Ornamental Carrot 'Dara' - Decorative wild carrots with light to dark purple flowers. The young flowers are initially white and only later acquire color. Blooms in the second year. In the first year, it forms a low, hairy cluster of leaves with a grayish-green hue. In the following year, more leaves and stems are produced, and flowering begins. Seeds sown early in spring for seedlings can bloom already in the first year.
Seeds can be sown in autumn; they germinate better after a cold winter. Cover the seeds lightly with soil. Sowing is also possible in spring, directly into the ground, in a permanent place in April/May.
