Watermelon ‘Charleston Gray’ (Citrullus lanatus) – produces large, elongated, cylindrical fruits. The rind is light green and smooth, while the flesh is pink, tender, very sweet and juicy. Reaches maturity in approximately 85–100 days after sowing. Fruits typically weigh 12–14 kg.
Seeds usually germinate in about 10 days. Soil temperature should be around 25 °C or higher for good germination; in cooler soil the process will be slower. Suitable for warm, sunny locations, ideally in a greenhouse or under cover in cooler climates.
