Watermelon ‘Sugar Baby’ (Citrullus lanatus) – an early variety producing medium-sized, round fruits with a dark green rind. The flesh is bright red, tender, very sweet and sugary. Reaches maturity in about 75–80 days after sowing. Fruits usually weigh 3–4 kg, and the harvest is typically in August–September.

Seeds germinate in approximately 10 days. For successful germination, the soil temperature should be around 25 °C or higher; in cooler soil germination will be slower. Suitable for warm, sunny locations, ideally a greenhouse or a sheltered outdoor site.
