Catnip (Nepeta cataria) 0,1g
Catnip is a perennial, aromatic plant with grayish-green, softly hairy leaves and white or light violet flowers. The plant is known for its characteristic aroma, which especially attracts cats, but for humans it is also used as a medicinal and tea plant. Catnip is decorative, hardy, and well-suited for natural beds and herb plantings. It blooms in summer, attracts bees and other pollinators, and also promotes biological diversity in the garden. Tolerates drought well.
Seeds are sown in spring for seedlings or directly outdoors after the last frosts. Sow superficially or at a very shallow depth, lightly pressing into the soil. Germination usually occurs within 10–20 days. Catnip prefers a sunny location and light, well-drained soil. Regular pruning after flowering encourages more compact growth and repeat blooming. Easily self-seeds.
