Common nettle (Urtica dioica) 0,1g
Common nettle in a seedling box in spring or directly into the ground in autumn. Do not cover the seeds with soil, as light is needed for germination. Average germination time: 10-14 days. While germinating, the soil must be kept moist. If sowing seeds indoors, stratification is required before sowing. When the seedlings are 8-10cm tall, they can be planted outdoors.
Nettles self-seed well, so if you do not want nettles to take over large areas, cut off the flowers when seeds begin to form.
The leaves and seeds of the large nettle have a wide range of uses in cooking and folk medicine.
