Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
Lavender or true lavender (Lavandula angustifolia). The plant has a pleasant, intense aroma. Also suitable for drying. Lavender seeds are among the slowest germinating seeds, germinating in 15 - 30 days, sometimes even longer. The optimal soil temperature is 20°C.
Lavender likes to grow in an open, sunny, well-drained, sandy, or even rocky place. To keep lavender compact and blooming abundantly every year, it is advisable to prune it slightly each spring. Lavender can grow in one place for up to ten years. Narrow-leaved lavender is most often used in cosmetics, tinctures, confectionery products, and essential oil production. Lavender can be added to tea and used in seasonal herbal teas.
