Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) 0,1g
Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) is naturally found in wet meadows, along river and lake banks. It blooms from early to mid-summer and is very attractive to bees and other pollinators. Meadowsweet has a very ancient and widespread history of use. It has a very sweet and pleasant fragrance. Used as a natural sweetener for tea. Black dye can be obtained from the roots, yellow dye from the tops of the plant. Oil is made from the flower buds, which is used in perfumery. Widely used in folk medicine. Parts of the plant can be placed indoors and will serve as an air freshener.
Meadowsweet is sown in seed trays in spring or directly in the ground in autumn. The seeds are covered with a very thin layer of soil. If seeds are started indoors, it is recommended to stratify the seeds before sowing. If the seeds have not been stratified before sowing and germination does not occur, the seed tray can be placed in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks, then returned to room temperature. The germination period can last up to 21 days, and under non-ideal conditions, even longer.
